Resumen
Bactericida de amplio espectro, anti fúngico y antiviral. Es un complejo molecular de yodo con povidona. El complejo, como tal, carece de actividad hasta que se va liberando el yodo, verdadero responsable de la acción antiséptica. La dilución incrementa el proceso de liberación del yodo. El yodo actúa mediante reacciones de óxido reducción, alterando moléculas biológicamente importantes, como glucosa, almidón, glicoles, lípidos, proteínas, etc. En este proceso el yodo se transforma en yoduro, que es biológicamente inactivo.
